My perfect base featuring the new L’Oréal Infallible 24H fresh wear foundation and more than concealer

  • Hello my lovelies, I hope everyone is doing great! Today I’m gonna be sharing my favourite make up base at the moment as well as a review of the new L’Oréal foundation and concealer.
  • A little bit of information about me and my skin so that you can be aware of what this base actually works for. I have combination skin which means I have an oily t-zone and drier skin around the rest of my face. I also have semi-okay skin, I don’t get loads of break outs and my skin doesn’t have too much scarring on it so I don’t need a lot of coverage; I usually go for a medium coverage.

This here is what I’m working with: pre-make up face.

Now into the base routine. Firstly I apply the Benefit Porefessional to my nose area and forehead where I have the most pores and fine lines. Then I apply the e.l.f glow lotion to the rest of my face to give me a nice glowy base.

Then I apply my foundation. For foundation today I used the new L’Oreal 24H Freshwear Foundation in the shade 20 Ivory. The L’Oréal website claims that it is a long wearing foundation with breathable technology with a medium to full coverage. It also claims that the foundation has three oil absorbers which resist sweat, water and transfer in an ultra thin liquid that gives a fresh, healthy looking complexion. I personally use one and a half pumps onto the back of my hand and use a brush to apply it to my face in downwards strokes. I feel like it gives me a natural finish which is not too matte but also not too dewy. The foundation also wears nicely throughout the day, yesterday I wore it for 13 hours and when I got home it was still there and did NOT look like it had been on my face for 13 hours. It is also really comfortable to wear, especially when you wear it in thin layers like I do, and I would agree that it is a thin but pigmented formula. I’m not that into full coverage foundations and so I find this perfect as it is a more medium coverage but it can be built up if needed. I am really enjoying this foundation at the moment and will keep using it on a regular basis. My only complaint with this foundation is that the colours are all way too pink, you can see from my chest I have a much more yellow/neutral undertone and after a while it dries down a bit more pink than I would like it too which I find is a problem L’Oreal seem to have regularly.

  • Then once I’ve applied my foundation I apply my concealer which is the new L’Oréal Infallible More Than Concealer. This concealer is claimed to be a flawless, full coverage concealer with a matte finish. It’s also said to be ultra-blendable and lightweight feeling on the skin. I personally don’t use loads of this as it is a very pigmented product which I don’t want to go overboard on. I also blend this over my eyelids so that I have a base for my eyeshadow, especially if I’m not doing heavy eye make up. I like this concealer as it is quite matte and does a great job covering anything that needs it. I mean you saw the spot on my mouth area on the first picture right? Well it’s gone now. I use my foundation brush to blend it out so that there are no stark lines between the foundation and concealer.
  • Next I add the Revolution Lace powder to my under eyes, nose area and forehead to stop any oiliness coming through throughout the day. After I’ve powdered I will spray my face with the Urban Decay All Nighter spray to melt my powder into my base, I also do this after my bronzer, blush and highlighter.
  • This is my finished look. I used the Benefit Hoola bronzer, Carter Beauty Aphrodite blush palette, Soph x Revolution highlighter palette, Jaclyn Hill Morphe palette and Soap and Glory sexy motherpucker matte lipstick.
  • So that my friends is my favourite base to wear on a regular basis, I do occasionally change it up but this is my newest tried and true combination. Have you tried any of these products? And if you have please let me know in the comments.

Thank you so much for reading today and I hope to see you around these parts again soon! Alex xx

    1. Can I just say omg you’re so beautiful and your smile is amazing!!! I have the same pore thing as you and i dont think it does anything for me, which is sad. My pores suck. Also I love the glowy base under the base! I kinda wanna start doing that too. My go to foundation is Clarins! It’s my mum’s though,I’m just lucky it also suits me hehe

      1. Thank you so much, you’re always so kind to me and it’s never not appreciated I tell you now. I find that it helps mine, it’s so interesting what works for your skin and what doesn’t for others. I would recommend all of the products I’ve used, the foundation is only £10.99 and I only use a 1-1.5 pumps of it each time and it’s amazing. It makes me feel so confident and like I’m putting on war paint so I can take on the world!

      1. Thank you so much for taking your time to read and leave me a comment. I appreciate your kind words, I personally am comfortable without make up on as I spend most of my time bare faced but I love the confidence it can bring me when I’m feeling low. Plus I find the process really therapeutic!

      1. I’m glad you liked it! I also use the Revolution Bake and Blot pressed powder in translucent but I’ve lost it so couldn’t include it in this post! I would recommend that one more than the loose powder because it’s easier to use but you do you girl!

        1. Ooo thank you! I’m not a big fan of loose powder so this sounds like the best option! I’m glad someone else is pro pressed powder 😆☺️

        2. Yeah definitely, I can carry it around with me and it’s just so much quicker and cleaner. I would definitely go for that one if you’re looking for a powder!

    2. I have such a love/hate relationship with the way foundation sits on my skin, especially on my nose because my pores are the size of mountains! But yours looks amazing! I’m gonna have to give a few of these products a go, I think! Great post, lovely x

I do too but I find these products seem to work the best for me! If I could recommend anything it would definitely be the foundation. Please let me know how it goes if you do buy them! Alex x
