Recently I have been on a massive skincare kick and found my skin care routine as a really effective form of self care. It’s been something so soothing and enjoyable for me and I’ve been seeing some great results. However there are some ingredients and types of products which I want to incorporate into my routine and these are what I have bought!
Intense Skin Exfoliator 30% AHA + BHA Peeling Solution, £8
First of all I needed a pretty strong chemical exfoliator as I tend to get some congestion on my nose and my chin and I also want to properly exfoliate my face. So I opted for the Revolution Skincare 30% AHA + BHA Peeling Solution Intense Chemical Exfoliator. This is one which is pretty strong and hopefully effective too. The website claims that it “exfoliates the top layer of the skin which encourages brighter looking skin” and it “lifts away dead skin cells and congestion”. It is “derived from lemons, grapes, carrots and pineapple, these fruity ingredients work on the top layer of the skin to help clear pores and improve the skin’s overall tone and texture for a brighter, smother appearance”. It is recommended to apply evenly to clean and dry skin 1-2 evenings per week and leave on for up to 10 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
This product is a red colour and has a fermented fruit scent to it, it is a thick liquid which is easy to spread across the skin without it going on places you don’t want it to. When I put it onto my skin it it has a slight tack to it but it doesn’t sting or burn my skin, I have started off with it being left onto my skin for 8 minutes and thus doesn’t make my skin feel sore or sensitive straight away. The scent of it does stay onto the skin but it isn’t overpowering and doesn’t irritate my skin.
3% Vitamin C Serum, £8
Revolution Skincare 3% Vitamin C Radiance Serum. I have been wanting to add a vitamin c serum to my skincare routine for a while as I’ve heard it’s great for brightness and reducing scarring, and that is an issue I can have with my skin. On Revolution skincare there were two types of Vitamin C serums: a 3% or 12%. I opted for the 3% as i’d never used a vitamin C serum before and didn’t want to damage my skin with going with too much. The serum comes in a brown glass bottle with a pump so that there is less chance of oxygen and sunlight getting to it and deactivating the Vitamin C. This product is a more water based serum which is easy to apply and smells like citrusy fruits, the scent however doesn’t stick around much and is only when you apply it. Ive added this to my morning routine after toning my skin and it is working really well so far.
Revolution Skincare 2% Hyaluronic Acid Plumping and Hydrating Serum, £6
I have been using a lot of products recently with Hyaluronic Acid In recently but I felt like I needed a HA serum by itself to add it properly into my routine. This product claims to be a plumping and hydrating solution which helps to improve skin hydration and encourages soft and supple skin. I wanted this in my routine as it is a light weight oil free serum so it will hydrate my skin without making it oily. It’s a really great and easy serum to use morning and night as adding hydration is what i want from my skincare routine.
CBD Nourishing Oil, £10
The last skincare product I bought was the CBD Nourishing Oil, this is an oil I am going to use a few nights a week especially in winter to nourish and moisturise my skin. The CBD oil also helps to calm and soothe skin as well as helps condition the skin that’s prone to dryness which is perfect. I want to add moisture and hydration to my skin because I have very dehydrated skin which makes it go oily when there isn’t enough hydration in the skin. This oil sinks into the skin beautifully when pressed in and worked well into the skin.
These two lip products are some of the most amazing lipglosses I’ve tried, the formula is non sticky and feels nourishing and soft on the lips. The colours are also gorgeous browns in different tones, these are my favourite colours to wear. They are so affordable and ones which I am going to throw into my bag all of time and wear them whenever I want something on my lips.
