In my What I Got In December post I got the Anastasia Beverly Hills Riviera palette in T.K Maxx and I couldn’t wait to review it. This is a palette I have been eyeing for so long but couldn’t bring myself to spend £46 for it so when I saw it for £24.99 I knew I needed it. This palette has a gorgeous array of more colourful and neutral palettes and has a whole row of mattes and one of shimmers.
The back story…
In March 2019, Anastasia Beverly Hills released the Riviera palette as a limited edition part of their collection. They are all new ‘paradise-inspired mattes and metallics’ which were part of their 2019 spring collection and it ended up being the start of ABH’s many (for them) releases of palettes in 2019. The Anastasia website claims that Riviera is an “essential springtime colour collection featuring classic neutrals and seasonal tones that are perfect for creating your ultimate vacation looks” which I found to be so true.
My first impressions..
When I saw this palette online in March I thought it was so gorgeous and it was my type of colour palette because it gives you bright colourful eyeshadows but also some more toned down shades which can be quite ‘wearable’. When I first sat down with it to test it out, I felt like all of the shades worked well together and I loved the fact that there were lighter transitional shades with different tones within them. I loved how jewel toned the metallics are, this is because they can take the look to a next level.
The palette itself..
- There are 8 mattes and 6 metallics
- Included in the mattes there are three pressed pigments which on the palette box it is not meant to be used around the immediate eye area due to potential staining, so if you have sensitive skin then be careful with them.
- Included in the metallics are two duo chromes.

My final thoughts and feelings..
I have LOVED testing this palette out and once I got to grips with the ABH formula again I could make it work so well. I love the different tones in the palette and it’s great for making bright or more muted colourful looks which is amazing from spring and summer. I definitely will get more use of it in the summer which is great. Something I’ve heard multiple people say is that they don’t feel the colours are cohesive together but I definitely disagree. Pink and yellow has been my FAVOURITE combination at the moment so I’ve used them a lot together especially. But I feel like all of these colours work well together and allow you to create cohesive colourful looks. If you’re interested in this colour scheme I would definitely recommend this palette, and I can’t wait to get more use of it.
